Tomoo received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. Tomoo received his Associate Degree in pre-athletic training major from Vincennes University, Indiana. Upon finishing, he continued his education and received his MA in Athletic Training and Sports Management from San Jose State University. While there, Tomoo's thesis topic was Intramedial Rodding in Chronic Tibial Stress Fractures in Female Intercollege Athletes: Three Case Reports. Tomoo is currently pursuing a certification in Mulligan manual therapy.

Personal:
Tomoo was born in Tokyo, Japan. He was a professional skier and ski instructor. Tomoo has worked with several sports at Stanford including baseball, cross country, football and men's water polo. He is currently working with the men's basketball and men's crew teams. Tomoo is skilled the fighting form of Gracie Jui Jitsu and has also trained on the Shamrock Fighting Team. Tomoo enjoys traveling, skiing and cooking. He loves to watch and play soccer. Tomoo is an accomplished acoustic and electric blues guitar player.
